If you're on the hunt for a cozy spot to enjoy authentic local flavors in Kuantan, look no further than Old Forest Cafe. Nestled at A393, 3, Jalan Beserah, this charming cafe encapsulates the essence of Malaysian cuisine while offering a relaxed atmosphere perfect for catching up with friends or unwinding alone.

As you step inside, the friendly ambiance welcomes you, enhanced by the soft hum of background music creating a soothing environment. The decor is simple yet inviting, encouraging guests to sit back and savor every bite of their meal.

Old Forest Cafe prides itself on serving a variety of local delights, and the menu certainly reflects this. Customer favorites include the Pandan Rice with Chicken Rendang, renowned for its fragrant rice and moist, flavorful rendang. Olivia Lee raves about this dish, noting its authenticity and delightful aroma, which is enough to make anyone's mouth water. And let’s not overlook the cafe’s famous Char Kuey Teow, expertly prepared with a robust flavor that showcases that elusive 'Wok Hey' masterfully; Jayon See swears by it, confirming that the generous portion sizes are perfect for hearty appetites.

If you're in the mood for something comforting and warm, the café’s White Coffee is a must-try. Whether you prefer it sweetened or straight, each sip is fragrant and satisfying, as noted by other patrons. The balance of flavors and aromas in their beverages powers the experience at Old Forest Cafe.

However, despite the delicious food and friendly atmosphere, some reviews have highlighted challenges with the physical environment. TY Chin pointed out the need for better barriers against glaring daylight and gas smells from the main road, suggesting improvements that would enhance the dining experience even more. Aviss Chin echoed a sentiment about the cozy yet slightly cramped seating, indicating that while the food takes precedence, a bit of comfort in the setup could elevate the experience even further.

Overall, Old Forest Cafe provides more than just meals; it delivers a slice of local culinary culture in a homey setting. Whether you're looking for a leisurely brunch or a lively dinner with friends, this café is definitely worth a visit. So grab your friends, bring your appetite, and enjoy a delightful culinary experience at Old Forest Cafe, where every bite is made with heart.

Food is good. Service is good. It's just wasted that there is no barrier to the glaring daylight and awful gas smell. Being situated in a main road with busy traffic, the owner can put a glass door, there will still be daylight and open view but that will cut abit of the glaring and smoke, so that people can eat in a more comfortable environment. We went to the cafe in the same row with a front door, it feels so much more comfortable without the smoke smell from cars passing by.

Excuse the bad photo taking, I just started eating cause the food smell so good. Had the nasi pandan with chicken rendang. Unlike those green color rice in Singapore, this nasi pandan is truly fragrant and authentic, the rendang is moist and delicious. Even the white coffee smell so fragrant. A bit too sweet for me but still very good. Happy to have found this cafe

A good place to eat and chat, nice atmosphere. The environment is clean and the food tastes good. But the tables are a bit small, making the seating cramped and uncomfortable. Large food portion and the price is acceptable. Worth a try. Recommended dishes : Smoked in your heart

A good place to have food and chit chat. Char Kuey Teow flavour is robust, full of Wok Hey and the portion is huge, which suits me best. Pandan rice with curry is also good where the rice is super fragrant and curry has its own unique taste. White coffee with mixed milk is also highly recommended.

Place: at LG, just outside Mr. DIY and opposite Jaya Grocer/beside Aunty Anne's. Comfy seats at the corner with hardly anyone walking pass. Great for privacy. Clean place. Service: maned by 2 staff at a time who are friendly and chatty. Fairly fast service. Satisfied. Food: did not try their solids, so unable to comment. 1) Gigantic/Jumbo watermelon Queen (RM16.90): not very nice to call a Queen gigantic/jumbo, but it lives up to its name and is HUGE! satisfied with purchase. Not too sweet. Fairly generous watermelon cuttings and laici. Loved that they considered us digging for the fruit bits and provided plastic fork and spoon in a plastic bag with tissue. Well done. Verdict: if ure thirsty, this IS FOR YOU!!
